Cover Dreams

Have you guys ever had a dream? No, I’m not talking about that Channing Tatum dream I have at least once a week. I mean a dream so near and dear to your heart that you’re almost afraid to talk about it, because it means so much to you?

Well, dear readers, that’s how I felt after seeing the cover art for At the Scent of the Crime.

Since I was a child, I’ve been a writer. I’ve always made up stories for family members and written stories for fun. I’ve dreamed up other worlds and written about them. I’ve written short stories, novels, novellas, a screenplay, and a million flash fictions. But something I’ve never had yet is a real cover.

Leigh (left) and Paloma (right) get the Wicked Wick candle shop ready for holiday shoppers! This year’s signature Christmas candle scent, Lonesome Luminaria, can be seen in the window.

And to have an actual real cover? Oh, this is the stuff dreams are made of. I hope you love it as much as I do. But more than that, I hope you fall in love with the characters and their lives and stories as much as I did while writing all about them.

The amazingly talented artist Molly Burton from Cozy Cover Designs created the cover for At the Scent of the Crime. As an author herself, she knows what goes into a great cover. She pulled my cover dreams and ideas directly from my brain, and perfectly captured the whimsy of Leigh and the mysticism of Paloma.

And the Wicked Wick store is perfect! I might have to do all my Christmas shopping there!

At the Scent of the Crime is available starting December 1, 2021, on Amazon.
